A 17-year-old Warwick Township girl fought off an attacker Monday night in the parking lot of the Chuck E Cheese's restaurant, Manheim Township police said.

The girl, who works at Chuck E Cheese's, walked out of the 2020 Fruitville Pike restaurant at about 9 p.m. As she approached her vehicle, a stranger grabbed her from behind, Sgt. Thomas E. Rudzinski said.

"The suspect tried to drag the female from the area of her vehicle, but she was able to fight him off," Rudzinski said.

The man broke off the attack and fled in a white Mercedes, Rudzinski said.

The teen was shaken up, but not hurt. She could not give a detailed description of the suspect.

Rudzinski said police are investigating the incident as an unlawful restraint/assault case, but it could be the attacker had other intentions — such as sexual assault, kidnapping or robbery.

"It appears to be random,' and it didn't last very long," Rudzinski said.

"He ran up from behind her, grabbed her, and tried to get her away from her car. She fought him and he fled."

The attacker did not display a weapon, police said.

The Chuck E Cheese's restaurant is located toward the front of a high-traffic shopping complex that contains the Manheim Township Wal-Mart store. Police ask anyone who saw the incident or has information helpful to the investigation to contact them at 569-6401, ext. 462.
